Job Description
United States International University-Africa is seeking suitable and qualified candidates for ICT Officer positions (ICT Officer Service Delivery – 2 Positions, ICT Officer Multimedia – 3 Positions). The ideal candidate will provide first-level technical support and administrative assistance to ensure the availability, security, and efficiency of the university's ICT infrastructure, supporting the CIO's strategic goal of 99.5% infrastructure availability and 90% user satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Desk & User Support: Serve as the first point of contact for ICT support requests, resolve Level 1 incidents within agreed SLAs, conduct user onboarding/offboarding, and assist staff in navigating the new ERP system and security protocols.
2. Infrastructure Monitoring & Resilience: Monitor core ICT infrastructure dashboards, perform daily health checks on servers, printers, PCs, and AV equipment, escalate critical infrastructure alerts, and assist in maintaining backup systems.
3. Security & Compliance Support: Monitor SOC alerts, ensure updated antivirus definitions and security patches, support implementation of data protection controls, and enforce physical security of ICT assets.
4. Asset & Inventory Management: Maintain an up-to-date ICT Asset Registry, assist in the annual ICT renewal cycle, and track software licenses.
5. Innovation & Teaching Support: Provide technical setup support for innovation hub activities, prepare training venues and AV equipment, and support the digitization of procurement processes.
6. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate logs of support tickets, contribute data to the 'ICT Resource Utilization Report', and document standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Requirements
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in an ICT support or system administration role. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Technology, or equivalent from a recognized institution. Proficiency in Windows 10/11 & Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Basic understanding of Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs). Familiarity with Ticketing Systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceDesk, Zendesk). Basic knowledge of ERP systems is an added advantage. Understanding of Cybersecurity basics. Competencies required: ability to work unsupervised, excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, strong customer service orientation, discretion with confidential information, detail-oriented approach, planning and organizational skills.
